All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others – Animal Farm

In literature, ofen we came across cryptic sentence / expression / phrase which carry an impressive message. This is one such sentence from Animal Farm by George Orwell.

Animal Farm is an allegorical novella by George Orwell and was published in 1945. This novella is all about metaphorical representation of governance. When pig got control of governance in a fictional country, he proposes seven commandments which were supposed to be quite appealing.

The last commandments says All animals are equal. But during the course of the novel, the an addition is made to this sentence  but some animals are more equal than others

The sentence is a comment on the hypocrisy of governments that proclaim the absolute equality of their citizens but give power and privileges to a small elite.

Only a genius could pen a phrase like this which transcends the barrier or time and space. We can use this phrase in so many ways to describe the state of affairs in any social situation.
