Pi (π) in Mathematics

The value of Pi (π) is the ratio of the circumference (is the total distance around the circle) of a circle to its diameter (is the total distance of the line connecting two points of the circle when it’s drawn through the center.)
Half of Diameter gives Radius (R). Value of Pi is approximately equal to 3.14159 (In fraction, 22 divided by 7)

In a circle, if you divide the circumference , you will get exactly the same number. Whether the circle is big or small, the value of pi remains the same. The symbol of Pi is denoted by π and pronounced as “pie”. It is the 16th letter of the Greek alphabet and used to represent a mathematical constant.

How is this originated?
The pi value was first calculated by Archimedes of Syracuse. The symbol π was first popularized by Leonhard Euler in 1737.

Pi Day
Pi Day is celebrated on March 14. March is the 3rd month, so it looks like 3/14.

Formulae using Pi

Area of Circle                        π multiplied by square of Radius
Volume of Sphere                 4/3 multiplied by π multiplied by Cube of the Radius
Circumeference of circle    2 multplied by π multiplied by Radius
